HOLISTIC BIRTH DOULA IN LYTHAM
Hi, I'm Demi Juniper
I had a VBAC at 42 weeks on my terms, my baby was born peacefully in the water and in that moment I felt on top of the world.
I'm a mother of two, holistic birth and postpartum doula and photographer.
I specialise in supporting mothers planning VBACs, home births, free births, and those choosing to birth outside of guidelines, especially when they’ve been labelled “high risk” and feel like their dream birth is slipping away.
Because you know deep down there's another way to birth a way that feels less like following policies and more like following your instincts. And I'm here to support you every step of the way.
You want a wise woman who will remind you to trust your intuition, your innate ability to give birth to your baby and prepare for a birth where you feel excited, and rooted in your decisions even if things don't go as expected.
I work with mothers who know that they are the ones with the final say.
Who are ready to take ownership of their birth, while being fully supported as they do so. Together we will work through your fears, past experiences, desires and your dream birth so you feel prepared to enter birth with clarity and confidence.
As your doula, I provide emotional, physical, practical and intuitive support, holding space for you as you navigate this transformative time.
Because birth is not something to simply endure, it is a rite of passage, one that stays with you for the rest of your life.
How you feel about your birth matters.
Being informed and supported is essential, whether you are navigating the NHS maternity system or choosing to birth outside of the medical system.
Who you choose to have at your birth matters.
Connection matters.
Feeling safe matters.
This is your birth, your body and your baby. You want someone by your side who truly understands your dreams, your wishes, the physiology of birth and provides nurturing support in the way you need.

What your birth preparation with me looks like
Session 1 - Birth unraveled
An opportunity to unpack how you really feel about birth. What narratives and beliefs about birth do you hold onto? If you've had a previous birth we will have a debrief to explore how it all unfolded and what you do and don't want to carry into this birth. You'll come away feeling lighter and discovering more about yourself.
Session 2 - Planning your dream birth
Imagine the day you meet your baby, what does that feel like? Where are you as birth unfolds? Who is by your side supporting you? Together we will discuss what your dream birth looks like and explore how to make that a reality. What is really important to you and why?
Session 3 - Preparing for postpartum
Preparing for the fourth trimester is just as important as pregnancy and birth. This is an energetically, physically and emotionally transformative experience. How does postpartum look like for you? What do you need to ensure you feel rested, restored and ready to embrace the early weeks with your baby? From nutrition, feeding and practical support we will create a plan together.
Session 4 - What happens when birth doesn't go to plan
Preparing for when things don't go as planned, exploring together your fears and anxieties because knowing what you actually want to do if things change is power. We will go deeper into birth emergencies and how you want to manage with these situations with confidence and clarity. When you want to seek additional medical support and what that looks like for you.
In this session I will sit solo with your birth partner too and explore their experiences of birth, their unfiltered thoughts and feelings and how to make sure they feel prepared to be present for you.
Session 5 - Birth physiology, biomechanics and the practical bits
Understanding what is happening to your body and baby during birth is essential. Creating your ideal environment, biomechanics and what my support on the day looks like for you. Whether thats a hand to hold, a pool to fill or simply a calming presence. We can recap any areas from the previous sessions that you feel you want to revisit.
You'll also have ongoing support via Whatsapp to share those thoughts you can't shift or to have honest, unfiltered open chats. I've got you.
FAQ
What role does a doula do in birth?
My role as a doula is to hold space for you supporting you emotionally, physically and practically so you feel grounded, and able to trust yourself throughout your birth.
This can look like offering reassurance, helping you stay calm and present, suggesting positions and comfort measures, and supporting you in understanding your options as things unfold. Often simply reminding you that you’ve got this.
I’m also there for your birth partner, helping them feel confident and supported in their role, so they can be fully present with you rather than feeling unsure or overwhelmed.
What areas do you cover?
I am based in Lytham, Lancashire and cover: Lytham, Lytham St.Annes, Preston, Blackpool and the surrounding areas. If you wish to birth in hospital I can attend either Blackpool Victoria hospital or Royal Preston hospital. I am willing to travel if you do not live in this catchment area however this will incur additional travel expenses.
What’s the best time to book with you?
My birthing clients usually book 3 months in advance as I only offer one space per month based on EDD. I do accept last minute bookings subject to availability.
Do you offer payment plans?
I do offer flexible payment plans, get in touch and we can organise instalments that suit you. The full balance is due when you reach 34 weeks.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No you do not have to pay the full amount upfront. A non refundable deposit of £100 is requested upon booking to secure your slot. The remaining balance is due when you reach 34 weeks gestation.
Do you support all births?
Yes, I support home birth, birth centre birth & hospital birth. My work is especially aligned with mothers who want to feel informed, trust their intuition and take an active role in the decisions they make.
Will you be available when I give birth?
I am on call from 38 weeks until your baby is born. I am available 24/7 and will come to your birth place of choice when birth begins.
In the very unlikely event I am unable to attend your birth I work closely with Eleanor from Birth With Choice who will be your back up doula. She is exactly who I would have in my corner if I were giving birth myself.
Do you support planned c-sections?
I do! I think it's so important women choosing the birth that is right for them whether thats at hospital or at home. I'll be by your side every step of the way.
